These are nice thick cards; "standard-wide" size. It's a struggle finding the Waite-Smith deck borderless for some reason, and this is one of the better ones I've found—assuming you like the patina. The colors are obviously subdued, but I greatly prefer this over some of the obnoxiously bright (practically like it was colored with highlighter) and poorly colored versions out there. I like the backing well enough, and even though the gold edges seems almost out of place with this style, I don't mind it. The box is sturdy but nothing special and the lid is loose rather than snug. The book is nicely made and better written than many, but it's a more modern flavor of messaging than what Waite actually wrote. There are two issues that caused me to drop a star though: (1) The small issue I have is that the patina is literally copy-paste identically on every card—this is extremely lazy, but they probably would have gotten away with it if it weren't for the dark splotch in the upper left corner (my mind went to Scooby Doo too). But the real problem with this deck (2) is that they tried too hard to be creative and they moved the titles up from the very bottom (where they belong); I get it, it would look nice if the art had been designed around the idea, but it's not. So, what happens is that you pointlessly reveal dead space and you obscure important and interesting details in the art. That's a really, really bad trade-off. For example, on the Empress you get extra lines of wheat that look like a barcode, but on Death you can't even tell the king is in the foreground or see the crown at all. On the aces you lose most of the foreground. Basically, it adds nothing to any cards, but it takes things away from quite a few cards.Overall, I still like it, they're nice cards, they're borderless, and I personally like the patina. However I recommend the Mary Hanson-Roberts version (requires cutting in my opinion) so that you can really see all the little details and have a companion deck that is way more vibrant and clean looking (see pics), but loses some of Smith's original lines in the process.

Orig review: I love these cards. The connection was instantaneous and the readings are precise. Aso super easy to shuffle and great size for my smal hands

However as you can see some of the cards have started peeling off on the laminate and some wear and tear with the card stock. This is after only having the cards for a month and not a lot of usage (i have 9 other tarot decks i use which are older than this one but no wear and tear). They should have used better card stock =(
