Edges, negotiations, and perks. What are we spending on?

-1: No Horror Settings. Erich doesn’t have the stomach for outright brutal gorefests and a test where the intended experience is pants wetting terror is not appealing. That said, horror settings tend to be short, intense experiences so this might be passing up good credits.

-1: No intense PVP- Erich was kinda spooked by having an enemy that could seriously challenge him. None of that.

-1 Professional- you will start any test with a master level understanding of a single relevant trade skill. This will either be an in demand career option (in a peaceful setting where settling down and getting a job is a viable option) or something which provides immediately applicable skills (such as being an engineer on a monster infested space ship).

-1 Origin Discount- gain a 1 credit discount on Origins. You and all members of your retinue will get a budget of 1 credit each to spend on their starter body. This is enough to create a generic “local” body, possess a tier 1 waifu from the catalog, or be put towards a stronger option, like possessing a tier 2+ waifu. Unused credits vanish at the start of testing.

-2: Safe Space- all worlds Erich goes to will have some places that are relatively safe, stable, and accessible unless he fucks it up. Life eternally on the run will never be the only way

-2: Sexual Calibration- realistic sex is for chumps. You and your partner don’t need to worry about Exhaustion, tables breaking, unwanted pregnancy, complications from pregnancy, pain, cleanliness, unpleasant tastes or smells, or anything else that. Might harsh the mood.

-2: Growth Opportunities- Erich won’t always have access to talents, but if he chooses this he will always have *something* that will allow explosive power boosts if he puts in effort. (Litrpgs, talents, and superpowers are all on the table)

-2: Where da women at?- Erich will always be in a world where there are hot girls available (other than the ones he brings with him). New captures, new lovers, whatever.

-2 Gender Ratio: Women outnumber men 3-4 to one in all settings Erich finds himself in, potentially gender flipping existing characters. This may have cultural ramifications like making harems socially acceptable

-2 polymath- instantly gain skills sufficient to push you into the low end of tier 2 in every imaginable field of expertise. Modest skill with every weapon imaginable, general identification of edible and poisonous plants, tricks to navigate in the woods without getting too lost, conversational fluency in every language, etc. You will pale in comparison to a specialist but you will never be at a total loss.

-2 Meeting Ground: you have a special company space where you can visit for one hour of stopped time per day. Other contractors you know may also access this space. While there, you can trade, socialize, heal, make wagers with other testers, and relax. You can also store items there, though you can only access them for 1 hour a day

-3 Family Business: all Descendants you have will be automatically promoted to beta testers at the end of any given test

-3 Subverse- women are naturally inclined to submit to men in bed, as well as out of bed unless they dislike the man in question. Very annoying for men that want to be dominated, but Erich isn’t one of them.

-3: Author’s Blatant Kink- mind control magic, technology, or otherwise opportunities will be far more common in Erich’s version of worlds

-3 Wand, Sword, Brush- You will start in the 60th percentile of users of your setting’s signature fighting style, magic system, or children’s card game. If this only applies to magic systems that you are capable of learning; if you want to be a Harry Potter Wizard, don’t be Dudley Dursley.

-4: Socially acceptable brainwashing- “I mean, I don’t really want to be the brainwashed love slave of my boyfriend but she seems happy. Yes I know she hated him before he whammied her, what of it?”

-4 Chosen One- you will have a unique or super rare skill appropriate to your testing environment. Possession does not imply mastery (see the prior perk for that), but you will have a substantial edge over anyone who doesn’t have such an ability, assuming otherwise equal skill levels. The inherent or social drawbacks of such an ability, if they exist, will be blunted to manageable levels.

-5 Echoes of Arcana- you may take along a form of magic from any setting you have formerly been to, and both you and your Tagalongs will retain the capacity to use them, though typically only as self taught amateurs operating off of half remembered theory. You will also permanently unlock practitioners of this style of magic for purchase, substitution, power swap, and template stacking, allowing you to spend credits to master this style of magic.

-5 Sticky Fingers- you are really, REALLY good at sex without even needing to really try. No woman who has had sex with you would say no to another round without extenuating circumstances and they are very motivated by the opportunity to repeat the experience

-5 Body tune up- you are in peak physical condition without any upkeep or effort. The KIND of peak condition may change, for example if you don’t have enough food to maintain an Olympian physique your body might become very efficient instead.

-5 Athletic Talent- You can learn any physical discipline in record time and optimize your body through practice. May seem worse than athletic talent due to requiring effort, but you try doing parkour without practice and

-5 Added Potential- You and members of your retinue are all wizards, Harry. Gene-locked magic systems are open to you, though only one per person, only when they get the opportunity to try it, and they still need to learn how to use it

-5 Wild Talent- Survive in any environment as well as a hunter gatherer born and raised here

-5 Wild Defense- there is no naturally occurring terrestrial environment likely to kill you on its own. You might starve, but won’t hypothermia and heatstroke can’t touch you

-5 Stress Defense- You’ll get over it. Negative emotions, whether they are fear, anger, shame, or anxiety, will never be out of your control. PTSD is an other people problem, and adrenaline only makes you stronger
