Might. Build up a martially powerful raid group that can rampage through the continent, doing any missions that can be solved with violence the old fashioned way. This will include many regional missions.

Taskforce. Assemble a multitalented group of specialists with different skillsets to take care of the more technically inclined and weird missions.

Networking and finance. Give the retinue an air of respectability and legitimacy among the nobility while securing useful resources.
