Procedurally generated maps or static maps in RTS?

In RTS games, do you prefer procedurally generated maps that need scouting for layout and resource spawns or do you prefer static maps that spawn exactly the same everytime with no need for scouting and a black fog of war? If you prefer procedural, do you prefer generation with light noise (slight variations in terrain layout and resource placement) or heavy noise (strong varations)?
