T1 shuffle - sheer volume of tier ones with the full intention of turning them into scratch-off tickets. 1 credit each for Bazaar direct purchase prices, but he’s basically never going to actually pay a full credit for a T1 if he can avoid it. The gachas he gets from selling T1s are weighted towards low value, unless he somehow gets his hands on main characters.
T2 Fodder: “Elite” combatants who actually know how to fight effectively as opposed to being merely willing to do their best. Also includes folks with some kind of actual trained specialty skill worth bragging about. They cost 2 credits if bought directly from the Bazaar, and if Gil can get good use out of them and isnt screwed by the gacha they might actually be worth it.
T3 Bronze League Trash: at T3 you are looking at people who are legitimately impressive individuals, but still firmly operating on a human wavelength. Pulp action heroes, special forces, Chad historical figures, and more can be found here. Probably the tier most likely to punch above their weight class as an actual retinue member, because they are defined by approaching a hard upper limit instead of possessing an innate quality. Each costs 5 credits from the bazaar, but they almost always have a sell back cost of at least 2 credits and one or more bonus items depending on their narrative prominence.
T4 Bottom of silver league: Blatantly superhuman in at least one way, this is where you find things like street level superheroes, people who are immortal but don’t have any other superpowers, and people who push just a bit past what a human body and mind are plausibly capable of. Each will cost 10 credits, and can be sold back for five credits, plus additional prizes contingent on narrative prominence. (More or better ones than in tier 3, if it needs to be said)
T5 All I can afford: T5 characters are where you start getting into the big leagues, but also potentially where the Bazaar screws us most. These people are defined by either having multiple traits that would qualify for T4, or by having a single T4 power manifest far past its baseline, much like a T3 vs a T2. However, this is based on their potential upper limits, not their actual personal competence. Pansy Parkinson theoretically can do anything Molly Weasley can, but only one of the two has dueled international terrorists to death.
Get more materia from Vanessa: check to see if there are any types more advanced than gas station elemental materia, but frankly that’s good enough if it’s all she has.
Get more guns from Vanessa: As a general rule a well stocked armory is good. Maybe grab some grenades too, in case we run into crowds.
Buy soldiers from Vanessa- Not SOLDIERS, the bioengineered supersoldiers. Soldiers. Guys what have guns and basic training in “peacekeeping.” Probably the best source of combatant sub-rate T2 fodder available to Gil, IF he can provide cute girls to replace the soldiers with, preferably T1s. Vanessa WANTS to sabotage her personal guard and build a premade harem for… whoever the protagonist ends up being. Good deal, but time consuming because the bazaar hardly ever holds onto cute girls for long.
Charging Station: a solar powered charger for the futuristic batteries Tony and Sally are using. Most of their other wares are much, MUCH less useful long term without one of these, but they will toss in a free fully charged battery for each. Around 1/2 credit, but keep in mind that friends can charge each other more or less.
Medkit dispenser: SOMEHOW synthesizes futuristic first aid kits from pure energy with no need for raw materials. Not as good as a healing leaf individually, but pretty efficient and functionally infinite if you can hook it up to a charging station or feed it batteries.
Scanner: Analyzes a thing it is pointed at from point blank range, extrapolating a ton of sometimes useful and generally accurate information about it from its structure and genetic sequence. Will only tell you things about the species in general; an elf archmage will only yield information about elves, not magic. 1/2 credit.
Repair Tool: an object that analyzes the design of an inorganic, nonmagical structure and then repairs it to perfect working condition. It does this through perfectly scientific methods it will not be revealing to you. 1 credit
Habitat Builder: Capable of using science beams to convert metal ingots, preferably titanium but it can do iron and steel if pressed, into standardized Alterra habitat structures. These are basically small prefabricated homes, also comes with a modest library of very functional corporate approved furniture it can build, which can be expanded with the Scanner. Costs 1 credit, but a pallet full of titanium will cost an extra 1 credit.
Propulsion Cannon: a tractor beam that can lift up to 25 kg/55 lbs, and move them around with a great deal of precision. Can also launch held items with moderate force. It is at its most useful when underwater, because it operates off of weight instead of mass so buoyancy really helps. 1 credit.
Stasis Rifle: Shoots a projectile that stops time in a modest bubble around 10 feet across for anyone and anything inside of it. The person firing the gun is immune to its effects because… biometrics or something. Around 2 credits.
Prawn Suit- it’s a mech suit. It would be laughed out of the room if it showed up in armored core, its offensive capabilities are limited to punching things or an optional drill attachment, and it is optimized for deep sea diving rather than combat, but it’s a MECH SUIT. 2 credits.
Magic weapons and armor: as history has taught us muscle powered weaponry is somewhat less effective than firearms. However, a sword doesn’t run out of ammo, and magic can close the difference between the two more than you might think.
Bonfire Ascetic: Allows Gil to add one charge to all of his bindings for a world at the cost of invoking a penalty mission and making that world more dangerous. Costs one credit, plus, you know, cursing the world.
Do a favor for an old friend.
Save our extra credits for later. Anything with less votes than this will possibly not happen at all.
Sell Pure Amulet - basically body defense in a transferable amulet form, making the wearer highly resistant to most poisons and diseases. Probably worth around 2 credits since it’s strictly worse than buying a 5 credit defense in most tests.
Sell Seal of Joy - Makes someone fantastically happy about anything that happens for the next 30 minutes, including in retrospect. Some long term effects but it’s not quite as powerful for long term brainwashing as corruption fruit. Worth less than one credit.
Sell Reincarnation Ticket - Gil’s ultimate one up. Allows the user to come back when permanently killed or the test would otherwise end once, spending any number of credits to become a random Companion Character from any world. Any other character card can do the same job in a pinch if a retinue member uses it to revive him, but this is automatic. Worth around 4 credits to a buyer wealthy enough to make good use of it.
Lesser Normalization Scroll: Allows the user to declare one thing which is already true to be normalized and unremarkable. Does not make people more likely to be happy about the subject, but completely skips the “freak out” or controversy step straight to “this is old news” which generally means much less actual scrutiny, confusion, or backlash.
Doors of light and Healing Leaves : Handy Dandy little magic items that allow the user to exit a dangerous area or structure through a one way portal that quickly vanishes. Each is worth substantially less than a credit. Also magical tea leaves that can rapidly repair injuries. Bring around half our current stock, and sell them piecemeal or in bulk to fellows that don’t have native access to JRPG healing items. Worth a bit more than one credit in total.
Memento Vive: Resets a dead retinue member to their factory settings, and resurrects them in their home world. They maintain continuity with themselves at the time of death, including any unnatural alterations of their personality. Worth around 2 credits.
Seal of Mercy: Causes an enemy target to decide they don’t want you dead for at least the next 24 hours. A sufficiently antagonistic force may attempt torture, theft, abuse, etc, but not murder. Worth around half a credit on its own, but to the right buyer might be worth much more.
Whore’s necklace - inserts a highly sexualized split personality that is willing to engage in transactional sex with a very low barrier to entry into the wearer. Gil has determined this to be too overt and overpowering to be enjoyable for his playstyle, but it is still a usable item to manipulate one retinue member to some degree. Probably worth one credit at most.
Shiho Card - Shiho Suzui is a pretty human girl with a solid education and a moderately high level of athleticism. Thats about 5 marketable qualities right there, before we factor in that she can be used as an emergency 1-up. Worth around 3/4 of a credit.
Piura card - Low level mole monster transformation and potentially resurrection is definitely less marketable than cute Japanese girl. But that also means we are losing less if we offload it. Worth around 1/2 a credit.
Deer Skins - Hey, we have them and they can be useful in many contexts! Just… not Gil’s highest priority right now. Also includes other mundane valuables Gil can shove into his backpack or canvas bag of goods, but which aren’t terribly high value/priority.
