Who Should Move on to the Championship?

by James Bow · 1 year ago
Our last two entrants to the Final Four are the winner of the Reptiles/Amphibians/Fish bracket, the Eastern Garter Snake (Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis) and the Champion of the Plants and Fungi, the Canada Anemone (Anemone Canadensis) The Eastern Garter Snake has been another giant killer in this tournament, ousting the Spring Peeper and the defending champion, the Turtles of rare. It has its fans, possibly because it has all the coolness of being a snake, without the venom of its colleagues. But the Canada Anemone has had quite a run through the Plant/Fungi brackets, and may be the patriotic choice of the tournament. This native wildflower provides great ground cover in our gardens and forests, and a beautiful white flower that appears in spring alongside the Trillium. No plant has made it into the championship finals; will this year be different for the Canada Anemone? You decide their fate! The loser moves onto the Consolation Final this Thursday, while the winner faces off against either the Red Fox or the Osprey for the glory of all the marbles! It's time to cast your ballots now!
