Motivational Letter (Economics)
Born in a far-flung region of Uzbekistan, I moved to the capital, Tashkent, as a
matter. Finding better facilities and opportunities in the city, I began developing
myself academically and broadening my horizons. I was incredibly excited about
learning Mathematics and the English language at school, leading me to use them
outside the classroom. As most global information is shared in English, I began to read, watch, and listen
to English books, podcasts, and movies. I am reading "On Liberty", "Representative
government" written by J. Mill, "The Social Contract" by Jean-Jacques Rousseau, "Economics for Everyone" by Jim Stanford, "Poor Economics," by Abhijit V. Banerjee and Esther Duflo, and "The Undercover Economist" by Tim Harford. I am
now enrolled in the AP Microeconomics course at MIT Edx and following 14.01 on
MIT's OpenCourseWare. Indeed, my interest in economics has dramatically increased
since I began to follow the news, read various journals, and participate in MUN
meetings. I want to make at least a small contribution to society's development in the future, whether economic, political or in the world of business. I want to follow the path of
justice without harming others, without being cursed, without hurting anyone. I want
to remind humanity, be honest, thirst for knowledge, treat each other with equal
respect. I want to be a role model for others who wish to help reform our nation. As Akfa University is the first private university in Uzbekistan, I would be privileged
to receive the outstanding education which it offers in my chosen fields. As a student, I would share ideas with others from various backgrounds, contribute to the
university's multiple communities, and quench my thirst for knowledge while
expanding my world outlook. I believe Akfa University offers a unique challenge to
all its students, and if I am fortunate enough to be accepted, it will be the bridge to the
bright future I aim to build!
