The home and away format means that a club has greater ability to control what is happening in their clubhouse- ie open the toilets, bar, catering etc.

the suprise of which green we play on if a neutral green adds to the excitement of playing on greens we would not normally visit.

We are fortunate that at our club we have 3 Saturday teams so I don't know how we could do home and away, and I actually prefer the neutral green format.
On the flip side of this to say our club does provide 3 teams to the league it was financially ridiculous how many blank Saturdays our club had with no game on our green....so if it meant a game on our green every Saturday then regrettably I would have to say home and away
