Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev was a Russian, neoclassical composer of the early to mid-20th century, he composed for many ensemble sizes and types. Born between Rachmaninoff and Shostakovich, Prokofiev’s music indeed fits between them as a tie between late romanticism and early modernism in music. However, Prokofiev interestingly had interest in the classical era composers like Mozart and Haydn, a pairing with his Russian influences which would cement him as one of the great composers of the 20th century. Here, like the Shostakovich poll posted a while back, Prokofiev’s symphonies and concerti are compiled into one poll. Choose between 4 and 12 options and check back to my page for the rankings. Thank you all very much for voting!
