Love happened to me in November 2021, but it was not a person and
not a thing, it was the way of life. One word that now ignites a huge
flame of passion inside of my heart, by the slightest mention:
architecture.
It all started with our trip to Turkey. Undoubtedly the first place to visit
was Hagia Sophia, full of tourists in the center of non-spatial Istanbul.
Many times before I could see this construction on expanses of the
Internet, but seeing my reaction, in reality, was something worthy, as
well as the way I felt at that time. I made more than a hundred photos of
this adorable building, shooting from different perspectives, and later
on, almost all of the sheets of my travel sketchbook were filled with
Hagia Sophia. I remember four long and thin towers that by connecting
could make a right rectangle, I remember the enormous dome inside of
which four faceless angels were illustrated, I remember the portals
which were painted in my favorite drunk-orange color.
It all started with one sight and I could understand what I will do in my
life: built. Build, in such a way that it would harmonize both with nature
and development. Play with figures, adding curves, mixing them with
sharp edges, giving freedom to creativity, but not depriving construction
of practicality and innovations.
Moreover, I want to use architecture as a source to tackle climate
problems. As a part of the Climate Science Organization in Uzbekistan, I
am eager to employ my knowledge of climate science in architecture,
which will help to find solutions on how to make building more eco-
friendly. It will assist humanity both with the mitigation of climate
change and adaptation.
I am sure that gaining knowledge in architecture will form me as an
individual who would contribute to the world. I have great expectations
for the future and this program would help me to move forward with my
dreams.
People who build, leave an eternal mark in history and I want to do the
same.
