Gustav Mahler is considered among the first modern composers, carrying forth the grandness of Bruckner with the thematic brilliance of Beethoven. Below are his 10 finished (and one unfinished) symphonies. Pick up to 6 you enjoy. Like so many others for which I’ve ran polls, expect a ranking of some kind in the coming weeks. Pick below from his Brucknerian ‘Titan’ all the way to his mature Choral-Symphony on the Songs of the Earth. Enjoy!
