Stay with Lucan. Try to speed things up where he can, but focus on networking with Lucan’s standing forces and try to farm soldiers with soul pacts. Get to know Hellawes, Breuse the Pitiless, and the rest of Lucan’s Dirty Dozen.
Go with Gawain, pushing the horses hard and swapping them out regularly to get to Ireland in only 2 weeks instead of 3. These won’t be weeks where Gil has much opportunity to enrich himself because they will be blitzing across the countryside, but he will have more time to prep for whatever the fuck Kusai is doing.
Try to recruit Nimue, youngest of the Ladies of the Lake, to assist us. Lucan identifies her as Merlin’s apprentice who will someday outgrow him, and she can do most things he can while being notably less weird. Not necessarily normal, but much less weird. Basically try to get that fast travel marker even though Merlin said no.
So someone mentioned in passing that Gawain is a dragon slayer. That means there are dragons. A quick conference with Lucan confirms this fact. We have Goblinization spores, which according to company policy will not cause a goblin apocalypse but WILL capture anyone and anything of tier 4 or lower, and can probably manage 5 or 6 with an assist. Let’s get a fucking flying Mount.
Let’s split up, gang! Gil will go with Gawain while Rose sticks around and gets a clearer picture of the forces of Camelot. She will of course try to recruit as many people as she can from among the ladies of the court (while she is in town) and the forces of the knights. Gil has one of her anchors on his person, her spellbook, so she should be able to maintain contact between the two forces easily enough.

Gil will get some method of quicker travel, as planned, but instead of going and waiting where Merlin says Kusai will go, try to get in close enough to get more information on the enemy. Don’t try to engage, that would be foolish, but out of context problems rapidly get easier to handle after a single briefing on the subject given by a knowledgeable individual.
