Archers: missile and magic resistance, strong long range game. Shadowmeld. Cheap, and good at riding allies into battle

Huntress: panther mount, summons an infinite supply of giant throwing stars that bounce between enemies. Shadowmeld

Dryad: immune to hostile magic and good at dispelling it to boot. Summons magical poisoned spears at will. Relatively high essence cost for a unit.

Druid of the Claw: big burly Druids with healing and buffing magic, who can turn into huge bears when threatened.

Druid of the Talon: Ranged offensive casting Druids who can debuff the enemy and turn into birds. Have a magic attack that doesn’t cost mana. Probably the best start for someone planned to be a full caster.
