Game Ideas

An RPG in an underground city (like Bioshock) where you can live out your life as a crime boss, cop, or other action movie trope. Emphasis on "Max Payne"-style gameplay and "New Vegas"-style RPG elements. Sound design and presentation inspired by "The Last Of Us"(This is the most ambitious idea. Would require the most funding. Please keep that in mind if you vote for this.)

A Mad Max style game with vehicular combat and gunplay. (Just a general idea. Presentation, story, and setting can be put up to a vote. I actually kind of like the idea of turning Mad Max on its head: a swampy/flooded apocalypse instead of a dry wasteland...)

A game styled like a PS1 horror game, with fixed camera angles (like Resident Evil) and RPG elements. The setting involves the occult and religion. Meet witches, demons, vampires, cult members, and people of the Abrahamic faiths (Jews, Muslims, Christians). The mood of the game is somber and often frightening.

A game called "Auto-Gamemaster". Ever wanted to play DnD one-player? I have ideas for a robust text-based game that would employ the creativity of a DnD DM, but you don't have to get a whole party together to play. Enjoy dynamic engagements and procedurally-generated story elements, just like tabletop RPGs. But it can be played with multiple human players if desired.

Ever used the GTA Mission Editor? Or the level-editor for FarCry? Or Gary's Mod? I have an idea for a game that would allow you to tell your own action story in the form of custom missions and custom characters that would be incredibly easy to make using an in-game editor. Share your custom maps, custom stories, and custom characters with friends. (Gameplay like "Max Payne." Presentation like "The Last Of Us.")

An action game with a gritty gameplay loop: You are alone in a hotel (or other liminal setting) hunting down another gunman. Place a lamp in front of a door, and if the enemy passes through it, you will hear the lamp clatter. Silently track your opponent and place makeshift traps, but if you get into direct combat, the gameplay will be like "The Last Of Us." Gameplay will be entirely black-and-white and strangely horrifying for an "action game."

Not a game in the conventional sense, but an insanely detailed choose-your-own adventure game, played entirely through YouTube videos. Track your stats on sheets of paper like a Table Top RPG. (This is just a general idea I've had for a while, with no particular story in mind. Presentation, setting, and narrative can be put up to a common vote.)

A game like Hotline Miami, except 3rd person. Similar style, similar masked characters, and similar pixel-art presentation. Kind of like OG Doom, but you can see your character (from behind, like RE4).

A more upbeat game with Jim Henson-styled characters, but with some moments of action-violence. Go watch "The Labyrinth" and "The Neverending Story" and "The Dark Crystal" and imagine it as a video game, with extreme care taken to make the characters move and speak like those Jim Henson puppets.

A more atmosphere-oriented game. Think "Scorn" or "Mind: Path To Thalamus." Actually, maybe we could contact the writer of "The Mystery Flesh Pit" and ask to use that story as a setting for a cerebral game. Or it can be inspired by liminal spaces. I don't have anything in particular mind. I'll put it up to a common vote, and let you guys decide what the game is all about.

New Vegas but not New Vegas. Since most of my followers are New Vegas fans, perhaps we should stick to a style more close to home. Of course, we can't use the Fallout IP but we can ape every other aspect of New Vegas. Focus on the good portions (RPG elements, narrative) while fixing what was lacking (gameplay, bugs).
