What should the specific definition of Enigmatic Entities be?

The current definition is fine.

An enigmatic entity is sentient. It may or may not be incredibly powerful, but it has its own goals and motivations. In short, an enigmatic entity should be written like an entity of interest page.

"sentient" option but for INDIVIDUAL entities. Species should stay numbered

I despise the concept being used on-site, since even normal levels can constitute “enigmatic”. It feels utterly pointless to differentiate the two, since enigmatics are only separated by name and lack of a number.

Count this as support for the "sentient" definition, but without the second sentence. Definitely should not be a policy/precedent.

In order for an entity to be classified as "Enigmatic", it has to be elusive and rare enough to make studying it either very difficult or near impossible. The classification "Enigmatic" simply means that we have very little info about the entity, and the info we do have may or may not be accurate for all variety of reasons, including but not limited to: Extreme rarity, unusual nature, great capabilities, lack of technology to study their nature, extreme lethality (thus few if any living witne...

Give enigmatic entities the same definition as enigmatic levels: They literally cannot be numbered due to their nature not fitting within a linear numerical list

well I just think they should be done away with. any concrete definition for this category leaves a mark disallowing that content on the normal entity mainlist, and essentially gives whatever type of content is included in the definition a spotlight on a seperate list. the numbers shouldn't matter, everything should be in the regular list.

Egnimatic entity should be an entity that is unique inside the Backrooms. Like Blanche, Gaius, the beast of level 5... These entities are almost gods, I find it weird to see them next of Smiler, Skin-Stealer and etc...

Any being that is unique and/or sufficiently powerful to warrant a different classification. For example, all Avatars should be listed as enigmatic entities, given that they’re unique, powerful, and well enigmatic. The Game Master being a numbered entity has always been strange to me, for example.

One of a kind entities, but the current one should remain on the list to avoid deadlinks

The reasoning for them being enigmatic would be for a variety of reasons, much like enigmatic levels. The name “enigmatic” really set a bad starting ground for both things and I think just having it so that each page has to justify itself in the contents of the page (and no-doubt something agreed upon by people who critique it) would be the way to go. (Also rename all enigmatic characters to numberless/unnumbered lololol)

I feel that enigmatic entities should be unique, one of a kind creatures that. How do some entities become species while other become stand alone and specific to ONLY themselves. Entity examples I would consider enigmatic: Kitty, Game Master, The Hermit, Samantha, etc

I don't think Enigmatic Entitys have to be rare. They can be very common and have a huge impact on people's lives, and they just weren't identified as entities, like a living sun or moon.

Unique, and simply defying definition.

Enigmatic Entities should be foundational to the Backrooms as concept. That is to say that they should contribute to the site's lore—even if said contribution conflicts with others pages—in a manner that would, or could, explain an aspect that is previously thought as impossible to explain. The style and thoroughness in which their pages are written in does not matter when it comes to the conceptual properties of the category.

Enigmatic entities to me are entities that are so unique that they cannot be placed within the number list. These are entities that are not just simple creatures you commonly find in levels like smilers, deathmoths, dullers, etc. For example an enigmatic entity is commonly unique in the way that it is powerful like gaius. Another way an entity is enigmatic is maybe their meaning and understanding of the reality or concept of the backrooms such as entity 100 (Should be enigmatic). An enigmatic entity could also be impossible to document for example, I think that is another valid way to distinguish an enigmatic entity. Also, to me there is only on specimen of an enigmatic entity, but I guess that can be debated. To me it would be kind of off-putting if an enigmatic entity wasn't sentient and if it wasn't "powerful", powerful in the way that it can't just be terminated. Of course as an enigmatic entity there should be a level of mystery too, it should be uncomprehensible.

Enigmatic entities, in my opinion, are the entities that are too complex and misterious to be studied by using the regular methods of Entity Analysis that are used regularly

Enigmatic entities are still numbered, they have their own numbering system different from a normal entity. Meanwhile, a unique entity, even when nonenigmatic, is not numbered. So, something like avatars will be numbered. Meanwhile, nonenigmatic unique individual like Kitty should be unnumbered.
