What makes you curious/want to engage more with an artists original works/characters?

Familiarity with the artist. If I am already a fan of the artists' illustrations/comics/writing/etc, I'm more inclined to check out their original works.

I am more drawn to original works when it's related to a fandom in some capacity (examples: AUs with existing characters/ships, fan characters/playable characters like an FFXIV "Warrior of Light" or an Elden Ring "Tarnished", etc)

When an artist posts snippets of lore/headcanons/canon/etc about the character on their social media or tags the characters in memes.

I'm not sure. It's all vibes based. Nothing in particular draws me to original works, I simply engage with it if I want to.

If I catch myself asking "what is this character from?" and I find out they're an original creation, that encourages me to follow to see more.

I love people posting about their original characters/stories. I'm more inclined to follow someone who posts original works over fandom ones.

OCs being drawn for memes, or comedic drawings of the OC (Similar to above, but more focused on comedy)

Familiarity with the characters. If I see them frequently enough, I become curious about them, even if I do not know their original creators well (example: See lots of art of an OC through commissions/skeb/fanart/etc, or the creator draws/writes them frequently enough that you have seen the characters multiple times.)
