Kill Sir Balin the Savage, and take his head. He’s a good guy but he’s also just an epic train wreck of a knight, stumbling from crisis to crisis and usually making it worse. Pros: We can steal not one but two magic swords from his corpse! Cons: According to Merlin in L’mort Arthur, he is the finest knight to ever serve Arthur, save one. So… he is tougher than Lancelot.

Steal Balin’s swords. One is supposedly forged by the Roman god Vulcan for Hercules, and the other is a cursed blade known primarily for its red hilt. He will not voluntarily part with either.

Steal ONLY ONE of Balin’s swords and get it to Nimue as quickly as possible.

Kill Balan instead. He is ALSO a chad, nearly on the same level as his brother, but he hasn’t been declared by Mallory to be an S Tier knight. Might be easier.

Let Nimue inventory the bag. This will give a powerful sorceress full knowledge of all of the consumables that Gil currently has, and she might take one of them instead of the cure materia. Most likely, she will just take Gil’s ice or lightning materia instead.

Try to get Merlin to stop being a dirty old man creeping on his apprentice that is (despite her ageless mannerisms) only like 18-19. While still teaching her, of course. That’s DEFINITELY not impossible.

Just let her have the cure materia on the way out. It’s not like it’s our only source of healing.
